Unemployment is one of the social and economic problems affecting the youth in Malawi today. This problem has fuelled poverty among them and we need special interventions as a nation if the country is to develop. It is an undeniable fact that the youth are of great significance in every nation’s development. Tingathe understands this and we have programmes that target the youth in peri-urban areas in Lilongwe.
For over 5 years now, we have been providing holistic support to young people as they climb the ladder of economic self-reliance into a sustainable future.
Meet Dalitso, from Mtandire Area in Lilongwe.

He is an alumni of the Tingathe Training Program (TTP). He graduated in 2019 under Tailoring and Fashion Design Course. After graduating, Dalitso applied for a start-up loan with Tingathe under Mitchana ya Geni and he entered into a one year post-training mentorship program that equipped him with skills in Leadership and entrepreneurship. Today, Dalitso has a tailoring shop in Mtandire and he is doing well.

His life has changed. Tingathe is happy about this.
